Our History and Skills to become a leader in the ceramic business.

Founded in the mid ā€˜60ā€™s by Giuseppe Gambarelli the company was always focused for the innovation and technology excellence. With Gambarelli brand the group was one of the first in the year 1971 to produce Monocottura and wit the Selene Brand was one the first to use the roller kilns.

A strong international focus has always been our main strategic guidance, exporting in more than 50 countries with a leader position in the USA, middle and far east. In the ā€˜90ā€™s an important joint venture was made with Monte dei Paschi di Siena Merchant bank the Finanaziaria Senese in order to create a brand new plant, with the latest technologies, in Buonconvento (SI) for producing porcelain tiles.

Year 2000: the ceramic revolution

In this period the group was counting 3 different production plants, 3 international branches and more than 300 employees.
In 2003 was launched a revolutionary product, based on a patent called Oxygena that was the first Ceramic tile with Titanium Dioxide, a component that gives the tile anti bacterial proprieties. With a recognized effect by the Italian Ministry of Environment this product won several awards and recognitions and gave the path to a new market segment nowadays followed by several producers in this business

In the year 2014 a new strategy: two new brand were created as licensee of two Italian prestigious brands: Tonino Lamborghini and Ducati. The business concept was to put together the Italian luxury tile business with high tech and automotive brands worldwide recognized. In 5 years several projects and a worldwide distribution was created.

Today Pozzi Borthers, having a 30 plus years of experience in the tile business are a point of reference both for the Italian and foreign producers who need a guidance in their business in all the aspects like sales, technical or financial.

Giuseppe Pozzi

Graduated with honors at Bologna University in mechanical engineering.

  • 30 plus years of experience in the ceramic business. He managed a ceramic group with more than 300 employees, 3 productive plants and 3 branches in the east Europe.
  • Importante esperienza in ristrutturazioni aziendali, attraverso piani straordinari di rilancio, ristrutturazioni finanziarie e concordati, con particolare competenza in gruppi industriali di produzione.
  • Great skills in the corporate restructuring plants with recovery plans, financial restructuring, operations of extraordinary finance and bankruptcy agreements mostly focused on the industrial companies.
  • Long term experience in creating and developing international industrial agreements and Joint Ventures both in South Africa (IDC and Eskom corporations with more than 10000 employees) and South America (FABOCE market leader in Bolivia with more than 800 emplyees)
  • More than 20 years of experience in the real estate business, managing high profile real estate portfolios and crating important operation of asset-management in order to maximize the added value on the assets
  • He was in the Confindustria board (Confindustria ceramica, Confindustria Modena e Confindustria Emilia Romagna).
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation skills coming from experience on the field, with a strong propensity to achieve the desired results, with particular attention to details; marked ability in the problem solving.
  • Public speaking attitude.

Tommaso Pozzi

Despite having graduated with honors in Milan at Luigi Bocconi Commercial University has always been rooted in the Sassuolo area with more than 25 years of experience in the ceramic sector

Skills and strengths:

  • Focus on Product Development, Marketing and Sales with particular attention to the key customers management and the creation of agents networks.
  • Many years of experience in the management of retail, distribution and DIY, commercial management of private label operations with Italian and foreign producers and distributors.
  • Many years of experience in international markets such as USA, Middle East, China and Far East with consequent creation of new market opportunities.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in managing production planning and budgeting processes.
  • Twenty years of experience in the real-estate sector, thanks to the management of important real-estate portfolios, also carrying out asset-management activities for the creation of added value.
  • Strong negotiating skills, with particular emphasis in the management of negotiations taking into account the cultural aspects related to the different country systems.
  • Problem solving skills with a particular emphasis on making quick decisions under pressure.
